Marianne has been involved in informal community education for fifteen years, managing engagement projects across Leeds, developing innovative methods of engaging with people facing barriers to education. Marianne is also a performer, interventionist, designer of site-specific plush and edible art, preferring a game of bingo to exhibiting in a gallery. This year, Marianne has managed the ACLF funded project: Messages Across Leeds and has set up a publishing company Springham Books to publish a student illustrated book Magic Oak. A member of Bradford zine collective Loosely Bound and a member of cabaret act Chip Pan’s People, Marianne focuses on working at a local level with local people.
